Gouache paint is a type of opaque, matte watercolour paint. It has a thicker, more viscous consistency than regular watercolour paint, which is due to the increased ratio of pigment to binder. It is also commonly known as poster paint.

Each original painting listed in the Products section includes the description of the type of paper that has been used for the paining. For example, some gouache paintings have been made on acid-free, cold pressed, textured 220 GSM or 300 GSM paper, whereas others have been made on non-textured, 70 GSM, acid-free, cold pressed paper.

A Certificate of Authenticity (COA, for short) is a document to prove that an artwork is a genuine creation by the artist. It offers information on what materials were used to create the work, date of completion, the dimensions of the artwork, contact details, etc. It is to ensure the veracity of the artwork and accurate record keeping.

The commonly available sizes for the art reprints are standard A3 (42 cm x 29.7 cm), A4 (29.7 cm x 21 cm) and A5 (21 cm x 14.8 cm). Sometimes there may be a slight variation in size due to cutting differences during production, but overall Oseye Illustrations seeks to provide the standard sizes as shared.

Yes, you can buy an original Oseye painting, but without the frame. The primary reason why the frames are not included is due to logistics hazard while shipping. Oseye will do its utmost to ship the painting to you in protective covering and package, but breakage of glass during transit is a likely possibility, so frames are excluded.

However, if you buy an original Oseye painting from the studio in Guwahati directly, frames are included.

No, frames are not included for art reprints.

Certificates of Authenticity that accompany a limited-edition art print is to give assurance that you are acquiring an authentic limited-edition reproduction of an original Oseye painting. Simply put – if there are 10 limited-edition reprints for a painting, it means that only 10 art prints have been reproduced in that specific size, and it won’t be reproduced further in that size.
